AEW All In immediately became one of the standouts of the pro wrestling calendar when the event first took place at Wembley Stadium in August 2023. Now, All In is back at Wembley today for a PPV that looks like being a cracker.
With an absolutely stacked card, some of the most anticipated matches see Bryan Danielson take on AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland, England's own Will Ospreay challenge for MJF's AEW American Championship, 'Timeless' Toni Storm defend her AEW Women's Championship against former protege Mariah May, and Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. attempt to take Mercedes Moné's AEW TBS Championship.
The day is here for the stars of All Elite Wrestling to put on an event to remember like they did at the inaugural AEW All In 2023 which set an attendance record of over 85,000 distributed. Accomplishing such a historic feat made it easier for the five-year old company to head back to London's Wembley Stadium for today's spectacular. But to fill one of the biggest venues in the world, you need a marquee headliner and AEW provided that with Swerve Strickland putting the heavyweight championship on the line in a title vs. career match. If Danielson loses, he must walk away from a 25-year career.
Danielson earned a crack at Strickland when he defeated rival Adam "Hangman" Page in the finals of the Owen Hart Tournament in July. In recent interviews, Danielson has said his full-time wrestling days are coming to a conclusion, and his family is ready for him to hang up the boots. But as the 43-year-old showed on the most recent edition of AEW Dynamite, he isn't ready to leave just yet.
Strickland captured the gold at April's Dynasty pay-per-view over Samoa Joe to become the first African-American heavyweight champion in AEW history. In his most recent title defense, Strickland defeated Will Ospreay in one of the best matches of the calendar year. Now, the 33-year-old looks to cement his legacy by sending home perhaps the most outstanding wrestler of all time.
Also on the show, MJF defends the American championship against England native Will Ospreay, Mercedes Mone puts her TBS title at stake versus Britt Baker and Toni Storm looks to remain the AEW Women's champion when she battles her former best friend Mariah May.
Much like last year's All In, AEW All In 2024 could go down as one of 2024's very best shows by the time the year is out.
A Danielson victory would not only cement his legacy as one of the best in the world today, but one of the greatest, if not the greatest, of all time. He faces a tough task against Strickland, who has been dominant since defeating Samoa Joe and "Hangman" Adam Page for the strap in March.
Elsewhere on the card, several championships will be defended: Dr. Britt Baker will vie for Mercedes Moné's TBS title, while Toni Storm looks to hold off former protégé Mariah May when they grapple for the AEW women's championship.
Will Ospreay will also defend home turf when he faces MJF for the International – well, temporarily the American – championship.
Last year, AEW made history with its All In event in Wembley Stadium. The company returns to London looking to top the first event with various titles and grudge fights.
The main event will see Swerve Strickland vs. Bryan Danielson in a title vs. career match. Swerve has represented AEW as its World Champion since April, defending against all comers. Danielson, a multi-time world champion, will put his storied career on the line.
The Young Bucks will defend their AEW Tag Team Championship against the FTR and The Acclaimed in a three-way tag team match. There will be a Casino Gauntlet as well.
MJF will defend his AEW American Championship against Will Ospreay while Mercedes Mone will defend her championship against Britt Baker. Mercedes made an appearance at All In 2023. Toni Storm will defend her Women's Championship against Mariah May. Jack Perry will face Darby Allin.
There are few more matches scheduled for the AEW's biggest show. It remains to be seen if Sting and Adam Copeland make an appearance on the show or not.
Sting has been off the AEW TV since his retirement match. The wrestling legend is still with the company. Adam has been away from AEW due to an injury which he suffered at All In. He will miss out on an opportunity to perform at All In due to that injury.
The fans are also hoping for a couple of surprises. Ricochet is highly likely to make his AEW debut at All In. It will be interesting to see if Bobby Lashley or Becky Lynch or any other former WWE superstar jumps to AEW.
